Guerrilla marketing is a strategy used by brands to promote their products and services in unique and surprising interactions. Companies have to use the tactics and factors they know about their target audience and think of ways on how they can interact with them using a space that can either be digital or online, to have consumers build a relationship with a brand and their products. There are many ways brands can use guerrilla marketing like using digital spaces like social media outlets or websites that are online forums to create interaction quickly within consumers, start word-of-mouth campaigns around a specific product or service requested by the brand, and having statues or a piece of artwork in an area with high- traffic to promote the brand as a whole, a product or service.
There are many benefits to guerrilla marketing like providing brands a chance to stand out from their competitors, it’s very affordable, and makes it effective to connect with their audience. One of the essential elements in marketing is having a company stand out in their market share, and from its competitors. With guerrilla marketing, many brands have to think outside the box and think of unique ideas to promote their business. Doing a tactic that no one will ever think of or plan to do while capturing the audience’s attention. Mostly, it makes the campaigns more efficient.

Guerrilla marketing is also very affordable for many companies, compared to other marketing campaigns. They can do sticker marketing, which is a way for the brand to stand out in an inexpensive way. They can also set up pop-up shops, which are temporary stores. The location is the main element in this marketing tactic. Pop-up shops can be located, on the street, a fair, a mall, or another store.
Lastly, guerrilla marketing makes it effective for brands to connect with their audience. Companies can use it at their full advantage by knowing where their consumers are located and what their wants and needs are. It’s easier for brands to create guerrilla marketing in a special event because they have a chance to reach a greater number of people in as an event.
Brands needs to focus on the main focus of guerrilla marketing which is to make it memorable. It’s a strategy that is growing in the marketing industry, since it allows companies to think of something different. Popular brands like Kylie Cosmetics started creating pop-up shops recently, in cities like New York, and Los Angeles. Many other cosmetics companies followed right after seeing her amazing feedback from her consumers, and the brands increases in profit.

Having five years’ experience in the marketing side of the fitness industry has shown me how essential guerrilla marketing is for a company. We are always participating in big events around the state, to increase brand awareness. We create stickers and start to promote the event by word- of-mouth around each studio to get clients to the event and to bring friends and family, which can be potential leads. In one event, we even had a huge blow-up statue of our logo “the splat” for consumers to take pictures with and post it on their social media outlets and tag us. The statue was a huge statement, and every person at the event noticed it and wanted to see what it was about. Guerrilla marketing always brands to stand out in their industry, and gain leads, and brand awareness. This strategy allows companies to take risks and increase their profit; every brand should try it with some of their campaigns.
