Why Every Brands needs Dimensional Modeling

   A dimensional model is created to summarize and analyze numeric information like weights, balances, counts, and most essential values in a data warehouse. The dimensional model has a creative way that works with data storage that can lead brands into specific advantages. Dimensional model has several elements that make it function, like the ability to filter the information and search for things. For example, in a dimension model, you can have the customer names, location, and product name as the who, where, and what, which is a dimension. An attribute within the location dimension can be the country, state, and zip code that the customer lives in, anything that’s is a metric that can be sorted can be used within a dimension. Occasionally, some attributes can be related, which makes them hierarchies. The three types are one to one, one to many, and many to many. One to one is when each side of the connection has only one match, one to many is when one side has several matches, and many to many are when both sides of the connections have multiple matches.    

  Dimensional modeling has several benefits that can help companies stand out from their competitors. It’s easy for businesses to report in different areas of the brand, and all tables are stored in the past, present, and future history of dimensional data. It’s effortless for companies to understand, and when it comes to grouping categories, it makes it simple and clear for businesses to understand and review. An advantage is that it can help with rising query performance levels. The most crucial factor is that it helps create a reputation that can bring in high performances, which can help by reducing data redundancy and less subscriptions. It’s easy for brand employees to use and accommodate changes to tables, charts, and any critical data needed. Companies look for databases that are relational and fast to look up information in.

   In my current position as assistant manager at a local fitness studio, we use dimensional models to keep track of most of our records, like customer information and sales data. It makes it easier for us as a company to put together strategies and plans by using an organized system. This system helps brands like mine to get ahead of competitors and spread brand awareness and messages faster to consumers. It’s a database that allows you to get to know your consumers on a deeper level and will enable a brand to have a connection with them. Every company should have a dimensional model for its data warehousing tools to improve its brand in essential ways.
